Резервное копирование в AOMEI Backupper

Для запуска создания резервной копии системы нужно будет перейти в раздел «Backup». Здесь предлагается несколько вариантов действий:

• «File Backup» (Резервное копирование файлов) — резервное копирование файлов и папок.
• «System Backup» (Резервное копирование системы) — резервное копирование системы одним щелчком мыши.
• «Disk Backup» (Резервное копирование диска) — резервное копирование жестких дисков в файл-образ.
• «Partition Backup» (Резервное копирование раздела) — резервное копирование разделов и динамических томов.

После нажатия на кнопку «File Backup» (Резервное копирование файлов) вы можете запустить резервное копирование файлов и папок на своем компьютере.

Если вам необходимо будет создать резервную копию диска или раздела, на котором установлена операционная система Windows, то тогда вам нужно будет нажать на кнопку «System Backup» (Резервное копирование системы). Вы сможете создать резервную копию системы и файлов, которые находятся на том диске или разделе диска, на котором установлена операционная система.

Физически жесткий диск на вашем компьютере может быть один, но он может быть разделен на отдельные разделы — логические диски. Например, на моем компьютере это разделы — логические диски «C» и «D».

Если вам необходимо архивировать весь жесткий диск, то в этом случае, вам нужно будет нажать на кнопку «Disk Backup» (Резервное копирование диска – резервное копирование жесткого диска в файл-образ).

Для резервного копирования отдельных разделов можно будет воспользоваться кнопкой «Partition Backup» (Резервное копирование раздела).

Так как я собираюсь сохранить резервную копию логического диска «С» своего компьютера, на котором у меня установлена операционная система Windows, программы и другие данные, то в этом случае, мне нужно будет нажать на раздел «System Backup» (Резервное копирование системы).

При помощи программы AOMEI Backupper будет создана резервная копия не всего жесткого диска моего компьютера, а только того раздела жесткого диска, в котором расположена Windows. На вашем компьютере может быть всего лишь один раздел на жестком диске («С»). Все равно, вам нужно будет нажать на кнопку «System Backup» для того, чтобы сделать резервное копирование системы.

В верхней части окна, вы увидите имя создаваемого архива. Далее в разделе резервного копирования вам нужно будет сделать два шага.

В первом шаге, необходимо будет выбрать разделы и тома для создания резервной копии. Программа AOMEI Backupper сама обнаружила раздел с установленной операционной системой.

Во втором шаге, необходимо будет выбрать путь назначения для резервной копии. Программа мне предложила диск, на котором можно будет создать резервную копию. В моем случае, это внешний жесткий диск, на котором я храню созданные резервные копии своей операционной системы, установленной на моем компьютере.

Вы можете нажать на кнопку «Step2» для того, чтобы открыть выбранный диск. Как видно на этом изображении, там уже есть резервная копия системного раздела, созданная штатной утилитой, входящей в состав Windows 7.

В настройки резервного копирования можно будет войти после нажатия на кнопку «Backup Options» (Параметры).

В настройках по умолчанию выбран уровень сжатия — нормальный, метод копирования — интеллектуальное резервирование. Будет сделана только копия используемых секторов файловой системы. Будет использована технология VSS, которая позволяет программе делать копию без прерывания работы приложений.

Меня устроили настройки программы по умолчанию.

Для запуска архивации выделите диск, а затем нажмите на кнопку «Start Backup» (Запуск).

Далее начинается процесс архивации системного раздела. Длительность этой операции будет зависеть от объема диска, резервную копию которого вы будете создавать.

Вы можете наблюдать в этом окне программы за резервным копированием. В нижней части окна отображается состояние архивации, скорость резервного копирования, примерно отображено оставшееся время до завершения процесса.

После завершения процесса архивации нажмите на кнопку «Finish».

Затем будет открыто главная вкладка в программе AOMEI Backupper. В окне вы увидите созданную резервную копию системного раздела, с датой и временем ее создания. Здесь также расположены кнопки «Restore» (Откат), «Backup» (Копия), «Advanced» (Опции), которые служат для выполнения различных действий в программе.

Далее необходимо будет создать загрузочный диск для восстановления.

Backup Mode

In this option, you can choose the backup and VSS mode.

Intelligent Sector: For the intelligent sector feature, Aomei Backupper uses intelligent sector by default. If you select the sector by sector option, backups will take longer as it will back up both the used and unused space on your disk. This feature is available for System Backup, Partition Backup, and Disk Backup only.

VSS: VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) is a backup technology used by of Microsoft, which allows the computer to continue to be used while a backup is in progress. If VSS is not selected, then Backupper will automatically use its own built-in technique instead of performing a live backup. Choose one of the modes to begin the backup task.

How to Back up Disks in simple steps

1. In the left tab page, select Backup and then select Disk Backup.

2. Click «Add Disk». Also, you can choose to name this backup using the «Task Name» field to help you distinguish it from other backups.

3. In the popup window, select the source disk that you want to back up and you can add several disks to be backed up via Disk Backup in a single backup operation. Please confirm if the destination must have sufficient space to contain the image file of all these disks.

Tip: Even though you can add several disks to be included in the backup, you need to restore these disks one by one. Moreover, it is impossible to restore several disks included in an image file to one larger disk. 

4. Click where the arrow points to select a destination path to store the image file.

5. Click the Start Backup button to create disk backup in Windows 10 and wait for the process to complete.

★Before start, you can set some helpful feature to make this task flexible.

Options: You can comment on this task, enable Normal or High compression level, split backup image, enable email notification, etc.

Schedule Backup: You can enable Daily, Weekly, Monthly backup to backup disk continuously for better protection. The Event trigger and USB plug in feature are available on the professional version of this software.

Backup Scheme: You can set full disk backup or backup only changed files on the disk with Incremental Backup. Note the Differential Backup and all the cleanup methods (By quantity, By time or By daily/weekly/monthly) are charged.

While a disk backup is running, you can click an icon in the lower-left corner to set to Shut down/Restart/Hibernate/Sleep PC after backup completion. Please tick the box and then click «OK».

When the backup is running, you can also click the underlined sentence to check the backup process in detail.

And, please kindly wait for the backup process to complete and then click the «Finish» button.

As a result, you can go to the destination location and check if there is a backup image (.adi).

Summary

The process of creating a disk backup in Windows 10/11 or previous system (Windows 8.1/8/7/XP/Vista) is very simple as long as you follow the steps above. And you can enjoy many helpful features during the backup process, such as, Compression, Intelligent Sector Backup,  Schedule Backup, Incremental Backup, etc.

Besides, you can enjoy more advanced feature in the professional version of this software. For example, you can resolve the backup disk space issue completely by deleting backup automatically. Universal Restore FAQs:

A: Please make sure that the “Universal Restore” button is checked, because when there is a difference between the computer where the source system is installed and hardware environment of the target computer, “Universal Restore” must be chosen, and restored operating system can be sure to boot normally.

Maybe the computer disk mode (AHCI IDE RAID) is changed. Disk mode is not allowed to be changed after using universal restore. In other words, if the disk mode is AHCI while restoring the system, please stay disk mode the same as AHCI after restoring, If not, the system will not boot normally; so does IDE RAID and they need to stay the same with source disk on disk mode. (About disk mode, you can refer to the BIOS manual).

Please make sure that Universal Restore operation is run under Windows or Windows PE bootable media, because AOMEI Linux bootable media can’t support universal restore currently.

If the BIOS version of target computer that you restore system to is advanced than InsydeH20 Rev.3.7 version, you need to enter BIOS setting manually and set “OS Optimized Defaults” in the “Exit” item:

Only in this way, a different machine that is restored system will be sure to boot normally.

• If the OS restored is Windows 7, you need set the parameter as “Win7 OS”.
• If the OS restored is Windows 8, you need set the parameter as “Win8 64bit”.
• If the OS restored is another Windows system, you need set the parameter as “Other OS”.

Q: About the problem that software need to be activated again after using universal restore.

A: After restoring Windows from one computer to others, it is normal that billing application or software prompted that system need to be activated again after it booting. Due to the fact that there is limitation to use activation code, therefore, you may need to reactivate those billing application or software again.

General FAQs:

Q: Does AOMEI Backupper support backup, restore and clone dynamic volumes?

A: For MBR dynamic volumes, you can use System Backup and Partition Backup way (System/Partition Clone). Disk Backup/Disk Clone function is not supported yet. When restoring, you can only restore to the original location or a basic disk.

For GPT Dynamic Disk, Backupper currently doesn’t support backing up or cloning dynamic volumes on GPT disk. We will add this function in later versions.

A: Please check whether or not the drive is 4096 bytes per sector. You can press Win+R, type“msinfo32” in the Run box, then open Components—>Storage—>Disks, then check the Bytes/sector of the drive. Backupper currently doesn’t support backing up or cloning drives with 4096 bytes per sector. But you can save backup files to 4096 drive.

Q: Why can’t generate a task via importing an image file?

A: It may because the image file you imported has the corresponding task in the task list of Home screen so there was no new task being generated after importing. In this case, you need to delete the corresponding task, then import it again.

Q: Why is the Windows boot stuck at loading ambakdrv.sys?

A: It might occur when you boot the Window from the cloned disk or from a new disk on which a system or disk backup image is restored. The problem might be because there is a conflict between ambakdrv.sys (the driver of AOMEI Backupper)and other drivers of the program.

Please check the instructions here.

A: Please check if the devices or programs connected to NAS have reached the ceiling of NAS. If yes, you need to disconnect some devices or programs so that the AOMEI Backupper can connect the NAS to do the backup.

If not, please delete the «NAS.xml» file under the path C:\ProgramData\AomeiBR. After that, please connect your NAS again.

Command

In this option, you can set the pre-command and post-command.

Pre-command: Run the specified program or script before backup or synchronization.

Post-command: Run the specified program or script after backup or synchronization.

Command: Browse to load a script file or executable program file.

Working directory: Type a folder path to save the result of the Pre-command or Post-command execution.

Arguments: Set some arguments for the command if necessary.

«Terminate the operation if the command fails to execute» and «Do not perform the operation until the command execution is complete» are selected by default.

Click «Test» button to verify the command.

Click «OK» button to save the command settings.

Note:

1. Real-time sync doesn’t support Pre-command and Post-command.

2. Generally, the source path of the script file or executable program file will be filled into Working directory by default after you add the script file or executable program file to Command. You can change to other path manually.

System Backup vs Disk Backup: Which One should You Use?

System Backup is a type of backup aiming at imaging system partitions and other system-related partitions (such as system reserved partition and boot partition), including system files, boot files and data on these partitions.

System Backup is different from partition backup and disk backup. Partition Backup is used to back up data partitions you select, you can select D:drive, E:drive, F:drive to be backed up, etc; Disk Backup is to back up all partitions on the specific disk, including all data on that disk.

For instance, there are 3 partitions on the disk: C: (system), D: (Data) and E: (Data). If you run a «system backup», only C:drive will be backed up as usual. If you run a disk backup, all partitions, including C: D: and E: will be backed up.

If you would like to back up and recover the whole system disk containing system, installed software, games, applications as well as personal files, the disk backup is suggested.

It is also recommended to regularly run a system backup in case of a system crash. Then you can restore your system with the system backup image.

Как пользоваться aomei backupper?

Утилита очень простая и понятная в работе. Пользователю доступны 5 основных вкладок. На первой «Home» предлагается перейти к своему первому резервному копированию. Выбор данного пункта автоматически перенаправляет ко второй вкладке «Backup» и также предлагает 5 вариантов. Это копирование системы, настройка синхронизации файлов и другие функции.

Для начала функции «Backup» потребуется выбрать необходимый диск и перейти к непосредственному процессу после нажатия оранжевой кнопки в нижнем правом углу. В данном режиме работы также предлагает выбрать отдельные папки на диске.

На вкладке «Restore» в заключении отобразится запись, имеющая собственный порядочный номер. Чтобы запустить восстановление, достаточно двойного клика мышью по записи и подтверждения действия. Остальные функции по типу клонирования системы или диска выполняются аналогичным образом.

Внимание заслуживает и последняя вкладка – «Utilitys». Создания загрузочного диска или другого съемного носителя, имеется возможность просмотреть файл регистрации

Такие логи помогут оценить успешность процесса резервного копирования. Аналогичная эффективность достигается и в определении возникших ошибок – отбраковка созданной копии.
